Job Title : Senior Cloud Operations Engineer
Assignment Type : 6-month contract-to-hire
Location : Remote (CST or EST preferred)
Job Overview :
The role involves cloud and platform engineering, automation, and modernization while ensuring the smooth execution of operational activities within the existing cloud environment.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to automate operational activities and improve maturity in cloud operations.
- Assist in developing, scoping, and defining deliverables for operational team initiatives.
- Adhere to industry best practices and enterprise standards in cloud operations.
- Work within an Agile team , focusing on collaboration, documentation, and knowledge sharing .
- Develop and maintain CI / CD deployment pipelines in Microsoft Azure DevOps and AWS Systems Manager .
- Engage with development teams to support pipeline security practices and ensure proper source code management.
- Develop and maintain operational automation scripts in PowerShell (preferred) or Linux Bash , orchestrated via AWS Systems Manager.
- Implement security and risk management practices, including audit logging, encryption key management, certificate management, and software vulnerability management .
- Perform resource and platform management by leveraging automation to provision or reclaim cloud resources.
- Ensure event management through proper monitoring, logging, and alerting , maintaining resilient and efficient solutions.
- Adhere to change and release management processes , ensuring a proper environment strategy for all solutions and projects.
- Conduct problem and incident management , performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Perform cost management analysis to ensure cloud resource efficiency and identify anomalies.
- Participate in business continuity planning , including backup and recovery management , routine data refresh activities , and disaster recovery testing .
Qualifications :
Core computing concepts (compute, networking, security, platforms, cloud).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
