Job Title : Sr. Postgres DBA
Assignment Type : 6-month contract-to-hire.
Location : Charlotte, NC (Onsite).
Job Description :
- 12 years' experience building and maintaining complex mission-critical production database systems in PostgreSQL
- 7 years' experience working with AWS Aurora / RDS PostgreSQL
- Strong knowledge of working with DMS, CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and other DB monitoring tools like PMM or Foglight
- Deep knowledge of database internals, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Experience migrating databases from other DB engines to Aurora / RDS PostgreSQL
- Excellent communication skills. Should be able to communicate efficiently with customers and leaders, and lead discussions during incident calls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with customers, resolving database, systems, and infrastructure-related issues, and providing systems architecture leadership.
- Ability to analyze issues holistically, from the application tier through the database, down to the storage.
- Broad awareness of customer workloads and use cases, including performance, availability, and scalability.
- Nice to have : AWS Cloud Practitioner certificate.
