Substitutes are essential in ensuring students continue to learn and grow every day. Substitute teachers may also be referred to as Substitute Educator, Guest Teacher, or Relief Teacher. Substitute Aides may also be referred to as Paraprofessionals, Education Technicians, Teacher’s Aide, Instructional Assistant, Classroom Assistant or Education Assistant.

Minimum requirements:

Substitute Teachers- Bachelor’s degree (Does not have to be in Education)

Salary for Substitute Teachers - $145-$175 per day

Substitute Clerical/Admin Work – Requirement: High School Diploma

Salary for Substitute Clerical/Admin Work: $15.68 per hour

Substitute Nurse-: Salary: $24.53 per hour

Paraeducator/Teacher Aide- High School Diploma Pay: $15.77 per hour

Lunch Aide, Custodian- High School Diploma $15.77 per hour

Responsibilities:

· Assume duties of the district employee in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies

· Assist, support and work closely with the supervising district/school employees

· Assisting students on classroom topics/courses

· Assigning or re-enforcing tasks and homework

· Assist in building a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the ability and interests of students

· For long-term teacher assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments
