Boiler Operator

We are seeking a top-level Boiler Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate MUST have a Maryland Grade 1 certification to operate standard boiler machinery and possess mechanical knowledge to maintain and operate boiler systems efficiently.

The position is for the afternoon shift from 2pm to 10pm.

Duties:

• Ensure optimal and continuous operation of boiler system by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary.
• Maintain systems by scheduling regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other parts and tasks necessary to keep the boiler performing optimally. Be able to identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components.
• Ensure boiler safety by monitoring safety equipment, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operations and to repair the problem.
• Troubleshoot boiler malfunctions, perform necessary repairs and replacements, obtain replacement parts and upgrade components, as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. Keep current on applicable laws, regulations, and guidance.
• Keep accurate records of boiler operations to include records of inspections, and maintenance routines and repairs.

Experience:

• Full certification to operate standard boiler machinery (Maryland) - Grade 1
• 4 years’ working experience as a boiler operator
• Strong mechanical knowledge with complex systems and/or in the industrial sector
• Highly safety-conscious and oriented
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• High physical strength, grip strength and dexterity
• Highly organized and attentive to the small details

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 50 per week
