We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our Sales team. As a Business Development Representative, you will receive comprehensive training on our consultative sales process, grow the Generac Industrial Brand, and have the opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced sales professionals who will help enhance your natural abilities and cultivate your sales strategies and techniques.

Sales Product Portfolio:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify and target potential clients through market research and outreach strategies
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations
  • Understand customer requirements, and provide tailored power solutions
  • Collaborate with Generac engineering and product teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date product knowledge
  • Negotiate pricing and terms of sales agreements to close effectively
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network and market
  • Collaborate with KGE service and project management team to resolve post sale issues
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions and progress in CRM system
  • Continuously improve product knowledge and sales techniques through ongoing training and professional development
  • Promote all KGE sales channels
  • Collaborate with sales engineers to meet sales goals and provide accurate quotes.
  • Follow-up on outstanding opportunities within the power generation market
  • Negotiate pricing terms of sales agreements to close effectively

Education/Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of Outside sales experience.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel or natural gas engine generators or electrical knowledge is a strong plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience in direct or outside sales a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time

This position will be working primarily indoors or outdoors in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment, but also requires the employee to be moving through other areas on a regular basis. From this movement, the employee will encounter varying temperatures from these areas. Normal auto and air travel hazards will apply. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be higher in other areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time.

The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.

Must have command of sight, hearing, touch and smell. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to closed forms. The ideal candidate for this position would oversee generic tasks such as email, paperwork, and organizational needs.
