Job Summary
This position involves coordinating daily schedules, diagnosing generator problems, and performing routine maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, be computer savvy, and possess strong technical skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily schedule with the Service Dispatcher.
- Diagnose causes of generator problems and/or failures.
- Communicate with inside staff regarding the status of work orders.
- Perform routine and planned maintenance as scheduled.
- Prepare paperwork for requesting parts needed to repair generator systems.
- Participate in ON-CALL rotation.
- Respond to emergency service calls after hours during On-Call rotation.
- Relay customer information to the office and assist fellow technicians as needed.
- Stay up to date on service bulletins.
- Maintain Service Training Certifications.
Requirements
- Documented clean driving record.
- Computer savvy with Microsoft-based products.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (vocational or GED).
- EGSA certification is a plus, but not required.
- Military experience is a plus, but not required (MOS: Army 91D, Marines 1142).
- Accredited generator courses are a plus, but not required.
- Experience should include a background in electrical and/or diesel engines, field technician experience in HAVC, automotive, generator or similar.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to withstand climate fluctuations and sustain working in cold, hot, humid, and windy environmental conditions that are associated with working outside as well as indoors with generator machinery.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
