Legal Secretary
Kelly IP, LLP, an innovative boutique law firm in Washington, DC, has a position open for a full-time, experienced Legal Secretary who will work with Kelly IP’s attorneys and other professionals on a wide range of matters in the field of Intellectual Property law, including trademarks, copyrights, and domain names.
The Legal Secretary’s responsibilities include: drafting and sending client correspondence; drafting pleadings; maintaining client files; assisting with filings before courts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; docketing and billing; assisting with conflicts checking; coordinating conferences and meetings with clients and attorneys; interfacing with clients; and handling a range of day-to-day administrative tasks.
Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of Legal Secretary experience, a positive and team-oriented attitude, a focus on providing top-notch customer service, the ability to prioritize under deadline, keen attention to detail in a fact-intensive environment, outstanding proofreading and organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office, docketing and billing software and procedures.

The candidate for this position will be successful if they are able to execute a variety of secretarial duties of a confidential nature. These tasks will include working with attorneys, paralegals and other members of the firm with a series of administrative functions. Therefore, the candidate will have to have effective time managements and organizational skills coupled with the ability to be detail oriented.
Qualifications

- Strong organizational and communication skills
- 3 years of secretary experience
