UTILITY WORKER

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Will provide assistance to the certified forklift operators as needed.

· Will support yard beautification efforts by conducting groundskeeping work.

· Help production workers by performing duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, or cleaning work areas and equipment.

· Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.

· Measure amounts of products, lengths of finished articles, or weights of filled orders to ensure conformance to specifications.

· Separate products according to weight, grade, size, or composition of materials used to produce them.

· Chalk loads and cut chalks.

· Clean forklifts in and out.

· Load and unload trucks and other conveyances carrying pipe. Forklift certification will be provided by the company.

· Cut the metal pipe to customer specifications. Cutting processes and procedures will be trained by the company.

· Operate plasma cutting equipment to process pipe. Operating certification will be provided by the company.

· Paint pipe to customer specifications. Painting training will be provided by the company.

· Consistently display regular and timely attendance on an on-going basis.

· Exhibit safe working habits and safe work behaviors to avoid near-misses, incidents, and accidents on an on-going basis.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Experience moving material on ground and onto trucks safely.

· Knowledge of lumber needed to stack material correctly.

· Skill in working quickly, safely and accurately.

· Ability to sort material of different lengths.

This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment. This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. and can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment. Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
