Schedule: Hybrid work schedule post training, hours are flexible however most employees work 9 hours a day and off every other Friday.
Job Overview
The Senior Accountant – Financial Analyst is a key member of the local management team, responsible for overseeing financial controls, maintaining compliance with global accounting policies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role also supports the US General Manager as the designated second-in-command (2IC) and actively collaborates with the Australian Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Serve as the primary financial advisor for US operations.
- Act as 2IC to the US General Manager, ensuring smooth financial management.
Accounting and Payroll
- Process accounting entries and manage the accounts payable/receivable cycle in line with Group Head Office policies.
- Oversee payroll execution, including compliance with statutory obligations like health insurance, 401(k), and leave requirements.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare accurate financial reports, including cash flow statements, P&L statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform revenue, COGS, and OPEX analysis with detailed commentary.
- Develop and maintain rolling 13-month financial forecasts, collaborating with sales, operations, IT, HR, and procurement teams.
Audit and Tax Compliance
- Act as the primary contact for audits, providing documentation and addressing queries.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll taxes, federal/state income taxes, and sales taxes.
Bank Administration and Transaction Monitoring
- Serve as the local administrator and approver for US bank accounts, ensuring dual authorization compliance.
- Perform daily reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards.
System Administration
- Administer and maintain financial systems, including Xero and CIN7, in alignment with global IT policies.
Cross-Functional Support
- Assist teams with financial projects and tasks as required.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to stakeholders, contributing to informed decision-making.
Key Deliverables
- Accurate and timely financial reports.
- Error-free processing of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
- Compliance with dual authorization guidelines for payments.
- Clear financial commentary explaining business performance.
- Adherence to audit and tax compliance timelines.
- Reconciliation of fixed asset registers and GL accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5 years of experience in financial management and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, CIN7) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of US payroll, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
- Experience in a matrix organization and collaborating across time zones is a plus.
