Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Oilfield Services Lab Team Lead for one of our clients, an oil field services company, located in north Houston, TX.
The purpose of the Oilfield Services Lab Team Lead role is to lead, supervise, and motivate the team, ensuring efficient daily operations, high-quality data analysis, and adherence to industry standards. The team leader is responsible for setting clear objectives, delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering effective collaboration across departments. This role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, overseeing standard operating procedures, and providing coaching and training to enhance team capabilities. Additionally, the position requires compiling and reviewing test data, performing final Quality Control assessments, and maintaining compliance with company policies while supporting sales and bid teams in project planning and execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day operations of the team.
- Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
- Set clear team goals.
- Monitor team performance.
- Discover training needs and provide coaching.
- Review and provide updates to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Use established industry protocols, test, and analyze samples to determine their characteristics, using laboratory apparatus and testing equipment.
- Trouble shoot, assemble, operate, and maintain laboratory testing, measuring, and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure work assignments are conducted to the highest quality level, review data, and be able to present it to clients.
- Report on established metrics, including revenue reporting and forecasting.
- Communicate Cross Functionally with other departments and laboratories.
- Communicate with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Work with the sales and bid teams to plan and execute technical projects.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by laboratory supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- BS Degree in Geology or other science related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of in-depth knowledge of Relative Permeability. Included, but not limited to Unsteady-State testing (USS), Steady-State testing (SS), and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) testing.
- Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor.
- Experience with high pressure and high temperature laboratory testing.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent decision-making skills, including trouble shooting and problem solving.
- Ability to verbally communicate well with all levels of employees.
- Must be able to follow written protocols.
- Contract
- Monday-Friday, day shift
- Pay rate dependent upon level of education and experience
