Field Service Engineer - Remote but targeting the Boise, ID area with 50% Travel US Citizenship Required and Valid Passport Required. Potential for a 6 week training program in Japan upon starting Location : Based in Boise, Idaho (with travel within the USA, and potential international travel) Position Summary : We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair a variety of analytical X-ray equipment and related devices. This role requires significant travel from Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and holiday work. Key Responsibilities : Primary Duties : Travel to customer locations within the USA to service and maintain Analytical X-ray Equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical issues. Install and modify system software as required. Provide preliminary troubleshooting and diagnostics via phone. Train customers on alignment and use of Analytical Systems. Technical Tasks : Install X-ray Generators, Optics, Detection Devices, and Cryo systems. Maintain, update, and repair installed systems. Complete and submit detailed weekly reports on customer issues. Use the company's service database for documenting service work. Maintain and update customer profiles as needed. Submit weekly expense reports. Work Environment : Ability to work in a clean room environment. Occasional international travel to the factories and Technical Centers for training on new techniques and service methods. Qualifications : Required : Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent training. Valid Driver's License. Valid Passport. Ability to obtain security clearance for customer and governmental facilities. Preferred : Previous service experience. Experience with Thin Film and Metrology equipment.
