Schedule :

Tuesday – Saturday, 12 : 30pm to 9 : 00pm

Responsibilities :

• Provide orientation and training to all histology personnel. Evaluate and document the competency of all histology personnel.
• SOP drafting, including all aspects of standard histopathology.
• Work cross functionally to provide user requirements and develop IT infrastructure to establish internal histology services from the ground-up.
• Conduct a variety of routine and specialized histology procedures for pathologist evaluation according to SOPs.
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve histology related inquiries and problems within the laboratory.
• Produce the highest quality of microtomy, tissue grossing, tissue processing, H&E staining, and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare microscopic slides on human tissue for research / diagnostic purposes, including processing, embedding, microtomy, and mounting to include paraffin processed tissue.
• Slide organization, prepare and maintain all necessary reagents, including stains, alcohols, and paraffins according to proper specifications.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
• Specimen management including return of blocks / slides to client pathology labs and organization of slides retained to meet regulatory requirements.
