Position: Lab Technician
Department: Quality
Primary Purpose: Make appropriate decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods. Ensure that Kerry products are up to standards and are of high quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct required tests, analysis, and/or verification steps to assure that raw materials, batched product, and finished product exceeds established quality standards.
• Verify conformity through measurement and assessment.
• Make quick decisions and use sound judgement to make rational decisions pertaining to recommended adjustments, corrective actions and disposition of goods.
• Ability to handle being exposed to smell and a variety of flavor products, essential oils and raw materials.
• Be able to participate in safety initiatives, committees and teams.
• Never take shortcuts or use the improper tools/equipment that could compromise the safety of themselves or others.
• Food safety and quality is Kerry’s priority so it’s important to adhere to all Food Safety/Quality SOP's while also accurately completing required Food Safety & Quality records.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while also maintaining a hazard free work area.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED, college degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or relevant science is preferred.
• 1 years of experience in food/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment required
• Experience with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FCC/USP/ASTA test methods, aseptic technique and food or pharmaceutical production preferred
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite preferred
• Organizational skills & excellent communication skills
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency and work safely
• Ability to strive for excellence in all areas; focus on effective internal and external customer-supplier relationships.
