Overview:
The Scientist 1 position involves conducting research to support cell and gene therapy product development and process improvements. This position requires performing cell culture experiments, handling primary cells and cell lines, and conducting various chemical/biological assays. You will play an active role in product development, technical product support, and process optimization. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid experience in cell biology, experimental design, and data analysis within a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
• Perform cell culture experiments for product development, technical support, and process improvements.
• Handle primary cells and cell lines in both adherent and suspension cultures.
• Conduct chemical and biological assays including cell counting, staining, and imaging.
• Perform data analysis and experimental design, ensuring accurate and thorough results.
• Prepare formal reports and presentations for team meetings.
• Participate actively in group/project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Stay current with industry trends by participating in educational opportunities and reading relevant technical publications.
Qualifications:
• B.S. with 5 years or M.S. with 2 years of relevant experience in cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Prior experience with Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, or Immunology is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mammalian cell culture techniques.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment such as pH meters and scales.
• Experience with media preparation, flow cytometry, gene transfection, ELISA, and antibody quantification is a plus.
• Knowledge of GMP and GLP procedures.
