We are currently hiring for a 2nd Shift Assembly Lead position at a premier manufacturing facility in Windsor, CT.
Position Details :
Shift : 2nd Shift (3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Friday)
Starting Pay Rate : $26.75 per hour The hiring manager is looking for candidates with previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
The Assembly Group Lead will oversee and coordinate the activities of the assembly team to ensure efficient and accurate assembly processes. This role involves mentoring team members, ensuring adherence to production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of assembly processes, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership : Supervise and lead a team of assembly workers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to production goals.
Production Oversight : Monitor and coordinate daily assembly operations, ensuring production schedules are met and that products are assembled according to specifications.
Quality Control : Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all assembled products meet company standards and customer expectations. Conduct regular inspections and audits of assembly work.
Process Improvement : Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Lead initiatives to implement these improvements.
Training and Development : Conduct training sessions for new and existing team members on assembly techniques, safety practices, and quality standards. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Safety Compliance : Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety audits and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
Inventory Management : Assist in managing inventory levels of assembly components and materials, ensuring that the assembly team has the necessary resources to meet production demands.
Communication : Act as a liaison between management and assembly team members, communicating production goals, expectations, and any changes in procedures or schedules. Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment, with at least [X years] in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of assembly processes, tools, and equipment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in using basic computer applications and manufacturing software. Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment where noise and physical activity are common.
