- Optional health, vision, and dental plans
- Paid leave as well as 11 paid federal holidays and 401K plan.
- Professional development program for continuing job-related education/training
KEY TASKS
(1) Capture and integrate biological and small molecule chemical data, provide expertise in assessing data that will be used to narrow down potential drug candidates, and assist with larger mission of driving therapeutic product development against biothreat agents.
(2) Collect data generated from high-content imaging platform and support the generation of a database that will capture all the relevant metadata generated from the high-throughput screens.
(3) Assess the workflow of high-throughput screening platforms and identify the
requirements and relevant fields to capture the chemical and biological data attributes that will support the configuration of a searchable database.
(4) Support the migration of the screening, chemical and ADME data into the database and manage the data in the database in conjunction with first in class analytical and reporting tools for small molecules for product development
(5) Perform analysis of dataset generated from phenotypic screens, including use of relevant R packages, spreadsheets, graphics and statistical programs to predict the behavior of a complex biological system or mechanistic basis for physiological and pathological responses to infection or therapeutic treatment
(6) Apply computational skills and biological background to develop tools that will support better approaches to integrate the screening data and metadata associated with the biological assays or chemical compounds.
(7) Communicate experimental data, laboratory or other work-related issues as well as present research findings and presentations at meetings and conferences
KEY REQUIREMENTS
(1) Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in data science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field.
(2) Minimum of 3 years of research design and biological computation experience including developing tools, analyses, pipeline development, data visualization, data mapping and migration, and database management
(3) Experience analyzing data generated from high-throughput screenings using R and Python scripts to facilitate the integration, management, and analysis of large biological dataset from diverse sources
