Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist to develop essential reagents and assays, propel biological workflows, and transfer cutting-edge technology from R&D to manufacturing. Be inspired and impactful by joining a team committed to making a difference.
Responsibilities
- Lead R&D projects to develop innovative reagents for Biomarker/IVD assays, including surface chemistry reagents, antibodies, proteins, peptides, DNA, RNA, and functionalized microparticles.
- Design and conduct experiments to gather data, test hypotheses, and drive new product development.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical and analytical tools to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Conduct literature reviews to stay at the cutting edge and identify research gaps.
- Innovate and improve potential areas of product development.
- Create proof-of-concept prototypes to demonstrate product feasibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research with product goals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges during development.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments and research findings.
- Communicate research insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Oversee the transfer of reagents from R&D to Manufacturing, ensuring QC and documentation.
- Mentor research associates and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with suppliers on custom reagent synthesis and characterization.
- Complete projects and other assignments from management promptly.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or MS in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of industrial experience in IVD R&D for Ph.D. candidates.
- 8 years of industrial experience in IVD R&D for MS candidates.
- Willingness to handle human whole-blood, plasma, and serum samples.
- Experience in developing IVD and life science reagents.
- Expertise in bio-conjugation, protein extraction, and isolation.
- Proficiency in protein characterization (SDS-PAGE, Western blot, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry).
- Skilled in purification techniques (IEX, SEC, chromatography).
- Understanding of biological assay phenomena.
- Experience with immunoassay assays in allergy and autoimmunity is a plus.
- Data-driven with robust scientific and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with demanding schedules.
- Excellent collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
