Our client is a leading company in manufacturing electronic goods,, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team and contribute to our procurement processes.
Purchasing Agent
Location : East Hartford, CT
Hours : M-F 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pay Rate : $20.00 / hour or more based on experience
Job Type : Full-time / Direct Hire
Job Summary :
As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials to support our production needs. You will work closely with various departments to streamline operations, manage material rejections and returns, and maintain accurate purchasing documentation.
Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Familiarity with Windows-based computers and software.
Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Willingness to perform tasks outside of the main job scope.
Responsibilities :
Procure materials based on manual requests and automatically-generated reports.
Expedite ordered materials based on production requirements to minimize downtime.
Handle material rejections and returns efficiently.
Maintain and file purchasing paperwork accurately.
Support the Sales team with part quotations and pricing inquiries.
Coordinate with the Shipping Department to optimize shipping costs and address any shipping issues.
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to resolve procurement issues.
Assist the Inventory Department with receiving-related issues.
Support the Business Office with invoicing issues as needed.
Perform additional tasks based on business trends and needs.
Adhere to the General Digital Quality Management System.
