Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to attorneys, ensuring the efficient operation of our practice. This role involves managing legal documents, assisting with case filings, and maintaining communication with clients and other stakeholders. A strong background in various areas of law, including estate planning, estate administration, and real estate is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Professionally interact with clients.
- Complete correspondence and documentation as directed by attorneys.
- Maintain limited case filings.
- Aid in the preparation of estate planning documents and administration of estates.
- Support managing attorney and the firm’s real estate practice as needed.
- Organize and maintain client files and documentation in an orderly manner.
- Assist with the filing of legal documents in court or with appropriate agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with legal standards.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure seamless workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary/Paralegal or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.
- Experience in a supporting role for various areas of law such as estate planning, estate administration, and real estate preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in legal drafting and document preparation.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is essential.
- Excellent computer (Microsoft Office), communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
