Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Coordinator plays a key role in documenting, analyzing, and standardizing processes to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for working closely with various departments to gather process information, develop detailed documentation, and ensure best practices are recorded and maintained for future reference.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Observe, record, and document manufacturing and warehouse workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
- Develop clear, detailed process maps, work instructions, and training materials to support operational consistency.
- Maintain a centralized repository for process documentation and ensure accessibility for employees.
- Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Work with operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure documentation aligns with lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
- Support improvement initiatives by capturing key process changes and documenting outcomes.
- Partner with frontline employees, supervisors, and managers to accurately document workflows and process variations.
- Ensure process documentation is easily understood by employees at all levels, using visual aids when necessary.
- Ensure all documentation complies with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Regularly review and update process documentation to reflect operational changes or new best practices.
- Support audits by providing accurate and up-to-date documentation of manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree
- 2 years of experience in process documentation, manufacturing / distribution operations, or continuous improvement roles.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies.
Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. However, this position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.
Physical Requirements: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
