The Role is a vital position in our manufacturing process. The primary responsibility of this role is to spray surfaces of manufactured products by performing various duties. Key Responsibilities:
- Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors regarding painting tasks.
- Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
- Clean grease, rust, and dirt from products; wash surfaces prior to painting; may be required to blast parts to prepare for painting; apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
- Sprinkle drop cloths over floors and cover surfaces that do not require paint with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
- Pour coating liquid into spray containers and connect guns to air hoses; turn sprayer valves and nozzles to regulate width and pressure of spray.
- Install specified nozzles in spray guns; replace screens and filters as needed; pull the trigger and direct spray onto work surfaces to apply prime or finish coats using enamel, polyurethane, epoxy, gel-coat, lacquer, and other industrial paints.
- Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvents.
- Load and move materials to work and drying areas using industrial forklifts, overhead, and jib cranes.
- Maintain production records of parts and jobs fabricated as required by Department Managers.
- Perform other routine duties as assigned.
- Set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Pass Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT) and wear respirators as necessary.
- Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and ability to work on-site are essential.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management is crucial.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, work in fast-paced environments, and interchange with others in the department is necessary.
- Ability to use and interpret DFT measuring equipment is required.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and pass a NACE paint test on plates with obstructions in the presence of a NACE Level 2.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. One year of related experience is required.
