POSITION PURPOSE
The Solution Development Director will oversee the Solution Designer Team globally supporting to identify key consultants globally, understand market trends in cooling solutions for data centre, working out cooling solution concepts with key consultants and actively influence the design as well as support the front-end sales team in customer meetings. This role will serve as key partner between front end sales and the application engineering team, ensuring to build up relationship to key consultants and hyperscale and colocation customers and support developing customer centric cooling concepts for both, data hall cooling and heat rejection. The Solution Development Director is also responsible for the people development and need to summarize and present market trends to the product development organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- People management: lead the solution designer team globally.
- Identify key consultants globally and build up relationship.
- Act as first point of contact for all requirements of consultants.
- Understand market trends in cooling solutions.
- Work out cooling solution concepts with consultants and actively influence design concepts.
- Support quote / no quote decision process in alignment with front-end sales.
- Review and qualify RFQ´s technically and clarify any ambiguities before handover to solution engineering.
- Actively support front-end sales in customer meeting.
- Feedback to product development team on market trends and address needs for product adjustments or development.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
- Knowledge of Data Centre environment, cooling concepts, thermodynamics and understanding strategic relationship building.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, thermodynamics, heat management, or related field.
- Understanding of HTRI preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in thermodynamic, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or products-based industry is highly desirable.
- Experience working in an international environment and managing teams.
