Objective
The Data Analyst’s role is to design data modeling/analysis services used to mine enterprise systems and applications for knowledge and information that enhance business processes. This individual is also responsible for assisting in building, deploying, and maintaining data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation. The position requires strong knowledge of financial products, such as loans and shares.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Devises, develops, and deploys required data queries in response to business user needs
- Develops data models and protocols for mining production databases through partnership with data owners and department managers
- Assists in the development of data management policies and procedures
- Identifies research questions, problem solves using data analysis, and communicates the results to various stakeholders
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs
- Works closely with data governance teams to enforce data policies and standards
- Assists in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions
- Communicates complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner
- Conducts job duties and responsibilities according to the organization’s business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
- Troubleshoots BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary
- Acts as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments
- Monitors data management system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Performs all duties in a manner that is fully compliant with applicable industry regulations as well as KEMBA policy and procedures
- Develops an understanding of Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational procedures
- On a self-directed basis, continues to improve individual level of competency through training and certification through established educational programs
- Relates to others beyond giving and receiving instructions:

- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or data engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ direct work experience, analyzing financial product data on a cloud-based data warehouse
- Experience building, using and managing data warehouses, using MS SQL Server, Google Cloud, Snowflake, and similar
- Proficiency in SQL, data manipulation, and database management
- Demonstrated ability with multi-system reporting skills (SQL, report development, design, and automation)
- Report building experience using BI tools; MS Power BI and Sigma Computing preferred
- Knowledge of database design, performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Understand the organization’s goals and objectives
- Basic knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Previous credit union or financial experience
