Objective
The Electronic Banking Specialist is responsible for the processing of Automated Clearing House (ACH) files under NACHA regulations, the processing of share draft transactions, the processing of Incoming and Outgoing Wire Transfer transactions and other electronic banking functions. Additionally, Electronic Banking Specialist will perform a variety of support duties related to the Accounting and Operations Department and other support functions within the Credit Union.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processes the transmission of ACH transactions
- Accurately reviews and assesses credit and debit exception transactions, specifically the Tran Code, SEC Code, and exception reason, to determine if manual processing is required based on written procedures
- Ensures processing and decision making is compliant with NACHA regulations in handling of exceptions, returns, and disputes
- Balances daily files transmission to Federal Reserve by required deadline
- Responds to ACH disputes and research in a timely manner
- Originates recurring ACH debits and credits to other financial institutions by accurately originating ACH transactions with appropriate account information
- Processes daily share draft transactions
- Accurately reviews share draft exceptions to independently make decisions if an item will be paid or returned
- Balances daily file transmission to Corporate One by required deadline
- Responds timely to share draft disputes and researches disputes as needed
- Accurately processes/transmits incoming and outgoing member wire transfers
- Reviews member accounts for availability of funds for wire completions
- Receives, releases, and processes wire transfers through the Federal Reserve and corresponding banks
- Performs wire related research and response to member wire inquires
- Completes all necessary fraud prevention procedures to ensure wire is valid before sending to prevent Credit Union losses
- Accurately processes/transmits credit union wire transfers
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
- Performs all duties in a manner that is fully compliant with applicable industry regulations as well as KEMBA policy and procedures
- Develops an understanding of Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational procedures
- On a self-directed basis, continues to improve individual level of competency through training and certification on established educational programs

Desired Qualifications
- Zero to three years of related experience
- Prior experience in a financial/banking institution
- Basic knowledge of Symitar processing system
