Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience of the installation and repair of low voltage systems, CCTV and networking systems. Fiber splicing is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, and audiovisual equipment
- Use Power Tools and Hand Tools to complete installations and repairs
- Test and troubleshoot systems to ensure properly functionality
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards, such as National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Minimum of (3) years’ experience as a Low Voltage Technician or in a related field
- Knowledge of low voltage systems and their components
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in low voltage installations
- Diploma from a Trade School or successful completion of Apprenticeship program in plumbing
- Understanding of telecommunication systems and networking principles
- Basic locksmithing skills are a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly with a great deal of patience
- Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces.
- Must be able to pass a background screening and drug screening
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass MVR check
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and lift equipment.
- Repeated bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and climbing up and down ladders.
- Extensive daily travel to work site location.
- Exposure to electrical, steam, and high heat units that require extreme caution and safety equipment.
- Occasional to frequent exertion in high and low temperature environments (over heated kitchens, rooftops, outdoors, etc.).
