The Senior Application Engineer supports engineering and production employees in the design, build, testing, and installation of custom finished products as needed. Monitor the project scope, schedule, and budget throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that the project can be delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Process/Product Optimization:
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of Kemco's technologies, particularly patented technologies, which are direct contact water heater and ceramic membrane filtration, to design and implement cutting-edge solutions for thermal energy efficiency and water treatment
• Develop bespoke solutions tailored to the unique needs of clients, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and retention
• Expand knowledge base and refine skill set in thermal energy efficiency, water treatment, and overall system optimization through active participation in training programs and staying abreast of industry developments
• Constantly work with sales to improve communication through surveys, emails, and phone calls to provide the best cost-effective solution to our customers
• Persistently work with project engineers and operations to understand and solve problems that might have arisen during fabrication
• Reconcile costs from what was sold to current market conditions when booking new orders
• Repeatedly work with vendors to cost atypical systems like closed loop heaters and economizers including plate and frame heat exchangers or containerized systems
Technical Documentation:
• Improve department's technical documentation processes by enhancing process flow diagrams, optimizing layout designs, and documenting pertinent data/information related to each industry and equipment
• Request and update price books from vendors to facilitate effective collaboration with other departments and external partners
• Keep tools and prices up to date while looking for innovative solutions
Process/Product Design and Development:
• Play a pivotal role in reorganizing departmental operations to align with evolving objectives and priorities
• Create and update standard operating procedures, optimize existing processes, and develop comprehensive training plans for new employees to streamline operations and ensure consistency and efficiency
• Conduct a monthly parts cost list update to align proposals with current market conditions
Leadership:
• Provide mentorship to new team members and encourage innovation to enhance cohesion and productivity within the department
Impact on Business Performance:
• Successfully manage a significant portion of proposal requests and order booking
• Drive business success through strategic planning and execution, resulting in notable growth in projects sold and revenue
• Works with the sales team to determine customer needs
• Develop a process design for a system to meet customer needs
• Establish a cost basis of systems
• Works with vendors to cost atypical items
• Writing a detailed and accurate proposals describing the systems
• Works with project engineers after sales orders on system design and cost
• Produce preliminary system process and instrumentation diagrams

• Master’s degree in engineering preferred
