The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembly, install, and repair of sheet metal products and equipment. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. You will be welding in very tight confined spaces, i.e.: inside a small tank.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Set up and operation of hydraulic press brake; forming various sheet metal and plate parts
- Set up and operation of plate rolls; material size ranges from 20 gauge to 1/4” plate.
- Set up and operation of sheet metal shear. Must be able to calculate best cut to minimize scrap.
- Must be able to MIG weld from 20 gauge to 3/8” plate; stainless, and carbon steel material.
- Must understand or be willing to learn the forming process of various sheet metal parts such as pressed elbows, gorelocked elbows, collars, sleeves, tee branches, reducers, etc.
- Must be able to weld in very tight confined spaces, i.e.: inside a small tank.

- Reads assembly prints and procedures
- Other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Trade or Technical School Degree Preferred
- 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication
- Good mechanical skills.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read assembly prints and procedures.
- Punctual
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal.
- Graduate of a welding school and welding certification are a plus
Skills & Abilities:
- Mechanical knowledge and the ability to read assembly prints and/or procedures.
- Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Production Environment
Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.
Frequently work in temperatures above 90F – facility has no AC
May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces
Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel.
