KEMET, a YAGEO Group company, is seeking a Controls Engineer in the Equipment Engineering group at our Simpsonville, South Carolina location.
Job Description : Engineer will handle the design, programming, and debug of the control systems on new or existing automated equipment. Responsibilities will include :
- Defining, designing, and documenting control systems for automated equipment.
- Programming automated equipment using various PLCs, HMIs and / or robot software.
- Debugging equipment and final qualification of equipment in production.
- Handle equipment changes / upgrades as necessary to improve the process and product, to increase production output, improve yields or reduce equipment cost.
- Work closely with production and process engineering to provide training and support during initial introduction of equipment into production.
- Provide trouble shooting support to production on equipment issues that cannot be solved by the production maintenance team.
- Work with suppliers and production as needed to replicate equipment and place equipment into production for capacity increases.
- Work with suppliers / outside experts to continue to improve KEMET equipment and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience : B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3 - 10 years' experience in the equipment engineering field, building and programming automated equipment / systems.
