Kemira Sourcing drives the company’s strategic spend management through the identification of suppliers, negotiation and contract management as well as the management of supplier relationships. We are seeking a Sourcing Manager to develop, optimize and implement sourcing strategies for regional Direct Material categories that minimizes the total cost of ownership as well as commercial risk for resale and raw materials. This role is also responsible for contract negotiations, supplier performance management, and will work cross functionally with other groups within Kemira for driving down Kemira’s variable costs and assuring cost-competitive sustainable supply to our customers and plants. This role is located in our Atlanta (Galleria) office. You will have the flexibility to organize your work between office and remote, in a hybrid work culture.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Develop sourcing strategy and execution road map for relevant category portfolio.
- Analyze and evaluate markets and supplier trends within relevant categories to ensure that supplier selection and other sourcing decisions are based on sound criteria.
- Develop and implement innovative approaches to sourcing arrangements that minimize Total Cost of Ownership and commercial risk to support Kemira business competitiveness and sustainability goals.
- Lead supplier selection decision and contract negotiations for new suppliers, give support in make-or-buy decisions.
- Undertake supplier mapping and build sourcing fact base of key suppliers within the category portfolio, to help develop effective supplier relationships.
- Own ongoing relationships with suppliers and manage supplier performance to ensure a sufficient level of service.
- Provide expertise and commercial knowledge within a category of spend to produce high quality professional market information reports and analyses of available commercial options.
- Work independently to complete given assignments. Guides and influences others within own area of expertise by providing advisory.
- Implement demanding sourcing arrangements and supplier relations management for defined category.
- Support growth projects in Water Solutions aligned with Kemira’s medium and long term corporate strategy.
- This position will manage a spend of $50 - 80 million, sourcing strategic base chemicals.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering or other science related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in direct material sourcing, commercial, or technical areas
- Leadership skills to effectively manage raw material commodity sourcing categories and cross-functional teams
- Proven track record in delivering year over year cost savings
- Proven ability to drive change throughout an organization
- Strong negotiating skills
- Experience in negotiating and managing commodity chemicals
- Ability to get buy-in and commitment from internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies
- Ability to develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans
- Strong analytical skills; ability to understand and define the most critical issues and develop methodologies for collecting and analyzing relevant data
- Strong process and project management experience
