What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher position at Kempsville Child Development Center?
Join Our Faith-Based Child Care Team!
We are a Christ-centered child care center, nurturing children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. If you love Jesus, are full of energy, enjoy spending time outdoors, and have a heart for working with children, we would love to have you on our team!
We are currently hiring for the following full-time positions:
Co-Teacher for Infant & Toddler Rooms
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (may vary based on need)
We’re looking for a compassionate, energetic co-teacher to support our youngest learners. While prior child care experience is preferred, we are open to training the right person with a passion for working with babies and young children. Please include any relevant experience, such as volunteering, working in a church nursery, or babysitting, on your resume.
Teacher for 4-Year-Old/School-Age Class
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (may vary based on need)
This role will involve working with school-age children during summer camp and transitioning to a Pre-K class of four-year-olds in the fall. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is excited to foster growth and learning in children during these crucial developmental years.
Who We Are Looking For
These positions are ideal for mothers re-entering the workforce, parents with school-age children, or individuals seeking a rewarding career in child care. Consistency is key for this age group, so we ask that you only apply if you can commit to a reliable daily schedule.
We also require that candidates meet Virginia Child Day Care Licensing standards, including background checks and a high school diploma (or equivalent). Additionally, you should be able to lift up to 35 pounds and enjoy spending time outdoors with the children.
Important Considerations
Please do not apply if:
- You are unable to commit to the hours listed
- You do not have reliable transportation
- You do not have a plan for child care if your own children are sick or out of school
- You are unable to make a long-term, consistent commitment
If you do not have experience in a child care center but are passionate about working with children, please share any relevant qualifications or experience and tell us why you want to be part of our team.
If you're ready to make a difference in the lives of children and families in a Christ-centered environment, we would love to hear from you!
