QC Inspector Part-Time
Job Summary
We are a small sheet metal fabrication company producing precision custom parts for OEM customers with stringent quality standards. The QC inspector is an integral part of the team to assure quality conformance to customer requirements. The QC inspector must be experienced and able to support all aspects of quality control from first piece inspections to detailed first article inspections for a wide array of fabricated parts.
Duties
· Visually and mechanically inspect fabricated sheet metal parts on daily basis for in-process and final quality control
· Use precision measuring tools and equipment such as calipers and gauges to verify part dimensions
· Verify internal fabrication prints using eDwgs and customer prints
· Enter inspection information into spreadsheets(s) and forms.
· Review quality requirements for customer orders. Prepare and compile quality documents accordingly.
· Conduct detailed First Article Inspections to ensure conformance with customer requirements
· Organize and maintain production and supplier quality documentation.
· Monitor daily/weekly process control tasks ensuring adherence to industry standards
· Coordinate priorities with Quality Manager to meet customer needs
· Assist with root cause analysis and disposition of non-conforming material
· Work with manufacturing team to contain and disposition non-conforming material
· Report quality anomalies and log into the tracking system
· Maintain equipment calibration schedule and records
· Contribute towards continuous improvement efforts
· Other responsibilities as assigned
Experience
· High school diploma or GED
· Experience as a quality inspector in a sheet metal or precision machining field
· Understanding of quality systems and standards
· Ability to analyze and interpret drawings and technical information
· Knowledge of measurement tools and techniques
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
· Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office, Excel and ERP systems
· Capable of frequent standing, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment autonomously and under pressure
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Math skills and analytical ability
· Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster cooperative work environment
Schedule: 7am-noon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Job Type: Part-Time, 20 hours/week
