What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Instructor - Water Safety position at KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH?
Under the general direction and supervision of the pool supervisor or designee, the Water Safety Instructor is responsible for teaching and supervising water activities in and around the swimming pool areas, ensuring safety regulations are met, and rendering aid as required. Instructor is responsible for preparing and completing lesson paper work.
- Must be 16 years of age or older;
- Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification; and,
- Desirable qualities include recent experience in Learn-to-Swim instruction and a good rapport with all age groups, especially youth.
- Teaches swimming activities to individuals or groups.
- Observes students and instructs accordingly based on level of class.
- As an instructor, keeps a variety of records and prepares reports.
- Assists in maintenance and clean-up operations in and around pool and adjacent facilities and does related work as assigned.
- Works at front counter; provides information, acts as cashier.
- Cleaning duties as assigned.
- Other related duties as assigned.
