About the Role
This position is part of our efforts to support vulnerable children, adults, and families within the Kenaitze Indian Tribe community. As a Family Services Case Worker, you will be responsible for advocating and protecting our members' well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver field-based and in-home services, including investigations, assessments, and case plan development.
- Represent the Tribe's interests in matters related to abuse, neglect, and abandonment, collaborating with various agencies and committees as needed.
- Participate in case conferences, initial case plans, child case investigations, case management, and Tribal Court hearings to prevent unnecessary removal or placement of children.
- Intervene on behalf of children facing allegations of child abuse or neglect, providing empathy and support.
Working Conditions
This role requires medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. It also involves standing, sitting, walking, using hands/fingers to handle or feel, climbing stairs/ladders or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, talking/hearing, seeing, tasting/smelling, pushing/pulling, and repetitive motion.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in case management.
- An Associate's Degree in social work or a related field, or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities, strong organizational skills, good oral and written communication skills, familiarity with the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Additionally, they should possess conflict resolution and de-escalation skills, excellent prioritization skills, and conduct business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful, and kind when dealing with clients, visitors, coworkers, and others.
