About the Position
The Accountant II is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements using accounting principles. This is an opportunity to make a difference and have an impact on a growing company.
Functions
• Responsible for coordinating monthly close process for multiple locations/departments and multiple site/department accounting personnel
• Review financial data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
• Preparation of complex customer invoices in accordance with customer contracts
• Responsible for monitoring and managing all aspects of the general ledger
• Reconcile general ledger activity to customer billing for more complex accounts
• General ledger balance sheet reconciliations utilizing Blackline Accounting software
• Prepare and key journal entries
• Coordinates the preparation of operating budgets by working with the Controller, General Manager, and Vice President.
• Communicates with site accounting personnel and Vice Presidents on a regular basis
• Responsible for monthly analytics of site information
• Monitors and assists site/department personnel with usage of financials systems and processes
• Provide support as a resource to Accounting Assistant I & II and Accountant I when troubleshooting work
• May provide training or coaching on processes to Accounting Assistant I & II and Accountant I
• Provide backup support to Accountant I and Senior Accountant and other team members as needed
• Coordinates accounting matters with other departments
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• MBA or CPA preferred
• 2-4 years of prior experience in an accounting department with customer service focus
• Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Expertise in Excel
• Proficient in use of accounting systems, Great Plains a plus
