About the Position
The Mgr - Safety and Security provides operational management for safety, loss prevention and security operations, while mitigating risks, aimed at closing safety and security gaps and vulnerabilities. This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of safety and security programs and policies involving personnel and facility protection, inventory protection, executive protection, and electronic security system design and installation.
Security Functions
- Manages development, implementation, and maintenance of security processes, practices, and policies that identifies and mitigates risk to associates, company and customer assets.
- Conducts and analyzes threats and vulnerability assessments to determine probable frequency, criticality, consequence, or severity of natural or man-made disasters or criminal activity against the organization, products, or services.
- Conducts Root Cause Analysis, security investigations, and recommends appropriate corrective actions.
- Manages continuous improvement activities.
- Develops and implements budgets to carry out security projects that will enhance the site and increase Return on Investment (ROI).
- With the assistance of KMS Risk Management, plans, designs, and manages installation process through completion of electronic security solutions (Intrusion, Access Control, CCTV, etc.),
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves security breaches. Responds to and manages emergency situations such as bomb threats, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, suspicious activities, etc.
- Directs or participates in emergency management and contingency planning.
- Manages organizational compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Trains internal site members on security rules, processes, and procedures.
- Prepares reports and presents on internal investigations, losses, or violations of regulations, policies, and procedures, etc.
- Coordinates activities with public law enforcement, fire department and other agencies, as necessary.
- Attends meetings, professional seminars, and conferences to keep abreast of changes in security best practices and new technologies, impacting security operations.
- Maintains understanding and knowledge of current Federal, State and Company regulations and policies.
- Manages resolution, or assists in the resolution of, policy-related or procedural issues and / or inquiries.
