About the Position
The Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects within scope, to a certain quality, and within time and cost constraints across one or more business units. This job is the fifth level in the job family. This job has direct reports. The job manages resources, schedules, financials and adherence to standard SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This role also includes management of issues, budgets, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The position contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
Work Schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days work from home. Traditional M-F hours.

Functions
• Typically responsible for 5 to 8 projects while supervising team members managing similarly sized portfolios.
• Review project proposals or plans to determine a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various project phases.
• Project size is roughly around 1350 to 4660 hours and the cost is between around $200,000 and $2,000,000.
• Project complexity is high: startups, high visibility, M&A (mergers & acquisitions), finance, customer-facing, and projects that involve other business units.
• Manage a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
• Assign projects to team members, track progress through regular team meetings, and report key updates in a concise format.
• Manage compliance with project billing for the team as well as report on project billing compliance for other teams.
• Collaborate with executive-level managers and directors to create KPI reporting on project performance.
• Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.
• Conduct risk assessment and mitigation.
• Define and create project plans for project, portfolio, and product prioritization and implementation.
• Proactively manage and report on all financial aspects of the projects.
• Work with IT leadership and product teams to manage priorities across initiatives.
• Provide capacity planning and reporting to IT leadership teams to ensure resources are effectively deployed across the portfolio of projects.
• Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
• Work as a team leader and as a team contributor.
• Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered.
• Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company.
• Assemble project plans and teamwork assignments.
• Direct and monitor work efforts daily, identify resource needs, perform quality reviews, and escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
• Provide executive level reporting on high visibility projects and projects that face significant challenges.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree - preferred in Information Technology required or equivalent work experience.
• 7-9 years of experience in strategic planning, implementation and systems integrations.
• 3-5 years of experience managing large-scale projects.
• 1-2 years of experience leading project teams.
• Experience within Logistics (preferably Third-Party Logistics), Warehousing and/or Transportation is a plus.
• PMI certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working on project and portfolio management tools (Workfront, MS Project, Jira, etc.).
• Experience with multiple project management methodologies. Familiarity with modern networking, software, and firmware technologies and architectures.
• Experience with enterprise financial management systems, human capital management systems. Workday is a plus.
• Experience with Warehouse management systems is a plus, especially HighJump, Blue Yonder, Deposco, and/or MercuryGate.
• Experience in establishing a product strategy and roadmap.
• Ability to support a tactical resource plan by mapping future demand to forecast project completions in the project portfolio.

Travel Requirements
• This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less.
