Kenda American Technology Center
Kenda American Technology Center (KATC) is responsible for advancing Kenda’s global design capabilities and developing new automotive, powersport, and bicycle tires for the N. American marketplace. KATC was established in 2014 and is located in Akron, Ohio. KATC currently has a staff of 50 and is expected to grow to 70~80 employees as Kenda expands its N. American customer base. Departments include Tire Development, Tire Research, Tire Testing, and Tire Materials. Facilities include a Tire Testing Laboratory, Rubber Mixing Laboratory, and Material Analysis Laboratory in addition to the R&D office space.
Position Overview
Kenda’s research group focuses on providing leading edge tire technology and applications to improve the tire design and development process. A software developer is responsible for developing infrastructure systems to aid in the global expansion of the tire development operations. Developers will work with the computer aided engineering team to develop software applications to improve the tire design and research functions.
We are looking to add a full stack developer to our research team at Kenda’s North American Technology Center. A full stack developer will learn to create full stack applications using angular, react, Django and other technologies. The candidate will be interacting with the engineering staff to implement improvements to existing systems. They will also be responsible for developing new software and desktop interface systems. Candidates will have the opportunity to travel to other Kenda facilities to help install and train on their software systems.

- BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree, or 5 years of relevant developer experience
- Experience in at least one or more modern programming languages: Python, C , C#
- Experience with web programming: HTML5, CSS, and Javascript
- Problem solving is necessary
- Willing to learn new techniques and expand ones’ knowledge
- Maintain and update existing web-based and desktop-based applications.
- Develop and implement software packages for tire development processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze problems and identify solutions.
- Work with end users for application release and support.
- Experience with web frameworks: Django, Angular, or React
- Experience with application framework .NET
- Familiar with Linux and Windows OS
- Familiar with Git and distributed version control systems
