Job Summary :
Responsible for the safe and secure transportation for all residents, and staff members as required, for doctor appointments and local shopping transportation needs. Will assist with the activity outings when assigned by the Director of Facility Services or designee for IL Resident outings and serve as a backup to the Activities Bus Driver. Responsible for the driving and upkeep of assigned vehicle(s).
Job Type : Part-time, as needed
Pay : Starting at $17.68 / hr.
Key Responsibilities :
- Transporting residents and staff as scheduled and as needed.
- Reporting all vehicle maintenance issues to the maintenance supervisor.
- Proper documentation of vehicle mileage logbook.
- Assisting activity staff members with the loading and unloading of residents.
- Helping with the overall appearance of vehicles by cleaning glass and sweeping out the interior.
- Helping with resident transportation schedule.
- Keeping all gas and repair receipts.
- Helping with scheduled vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications :
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Valid Virginia driver's license, with a clean driving record. Previous transportation experience in a similar setting is preferred. Knowledge and willingness to work with residents; ability to demonstrate considerable judgment and initiative in adapting special programs to suit the needs of residents; ability to secure the cooperation and interest of residents in initiating programs and techniques.
Must know how to safely load and unload residents and securely seat residents to ensure their safety while being transported. Must have vehicle maintenance knowledge and good vehicle documentation ability. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Salary : $18
