The Kendal Facilities team is seeking an experienced Electrician. The Electrician installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment.
Primary roles and responsibilities include:
- Performing electrical tasks by installing and/or maintaining outlets, lights, motors, activators, ballasts, circuit breakers, and distribution systems.
- Performing equipment system tasks by repairing and maintaining alarm systems, DDC systems, telephone systems, and other minor electronic projects throughout the community.
- Maintaining accurate equipment and system records including TMA, O&M manuals, and data files.
- Assisting the Facilities department in planning for projects and budget preparations.
- Maintaining security of the community by remaining knowledgeable with the security manual, including monitoring strangers on the premises and recording unusual events in the night log or by way of incident reports.
- Responding to any emergency circumstances in accordance to Kendal at Hanover’s Emergency Procedure plan.
- Responding to other urgent needs for general services such as fire alarms, heating, lighting, water, and sewage.
- Creating and maintaining work orders and processing control charts.
- Organizing the work progress of multiple staff members and trade contractors on jobsites.
- Contributing, as needed, to performing general maintenance activities that may require skills in the area of: electrical, carpentry, renovation, plumbing, and painted as requested by the supervisor.
The successful candidate will have: a license as a Master Electrician in New Hampshire (required); a working knowledge of the related trades (plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work)(required); and a valid driver’s license (required). Being able to communicate professionally and in a friendly manner with vendors, contractors, staff, and residents is essential, as well as prioritizing customer service and having strong interpersonal skills.
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:30 – 4:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. One weekend per month, you are required to provide remote support (monitoring alarms) for both Saturday and Sunday night on third shift (for a total of 16 hours). There is an on-call stipend in addition to Kendal’s regular shift differentials for the hours worked during this weekend.
Pay range: $31.25 - $37.00 per hour with an additional on-call stipend for the on-call weekends.
