Kendal at Oberlin's Health Services Department is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an MDS Nurse position on a PRN basis. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the MDS Nurse will monitor, assess, and maintain records regarding minimum data sets and coordinate and lead these efforts with members of the Interdisciplinary Team through the care planning process. Additionally, the MDS Coordinator will be responsible for including but not limited to:
- Providing information to the staff regarding care requirements, assign nurse managers to cases, monitor and assist in the evaluation of work performed by subordinates.
- Ensuring all restorative programs are complete.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of the Department of Health and Federal Regulations to assist facility in remaining in compliance.
- Overseeing resident’s Medicare reimbursement qualifications and utilization of resources.
- Supervising nursing care requirements; number of residents, severity of condition, length of stay, medical treatment plan, nursing care activities, research and educational programs.
- Developing and implementing practice protocols regarding residents in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other disciplines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be an RN or LPN with current license in Ohio.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in working with the geriatric population and group process.
- Possesses a sound foundation in medical and nursing practices and procedures.

Knowledge of base in care planning, MDS process, and state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities.
