Job Summary
Assistant Bait Shop Manager
Must love fishing.
Must be an early riser, we have to be open for business at or before 6 am.
Must love keeping up with the latest fishing gear.
Must love talking about fishing and helping people get started with fishing.
Must understand the importance of keeping inventory (experience preferred).
Must have an interest in internet marketing. There is an extra $500 a month in it for posting 5 days a week. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure that the organization meets its goals and objectives while maintaining high standards of performance.
Duties
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient management of resources.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire junior employees to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement across all operational areas.
- Follow industry regulations and standards.
- Represent the organization at various events, meetings, and conferences to promote its mission and values.
- Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain competitive advantage.
- Generating interest in fishing among employees and customers.
- Keeping the store stocked with the items our customers want to buy- using technology to help track what our customers want.
- Operating the store 30-40 hours a week.
- Keeping live bait wells operating at full capacity, clean, and efficient.
- Organizing the store and keeping it clean and orderly.
- Helping the manager make and enforce the schedule for other employees.
- Paying bills and invoices.
- Purchasing supplies for the store.
- Creating an email list for discounts, marketing, and special events.
- Setting up special events such as knot tying tutorials, talks with local legends, product demonstrations, and happy hours.
- Overseeing Rod Repair program.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in leadership roles preferably with a background in fishing salt water.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences.
- A commitment to fostering a workplace culture that values collaboration and taking ownership.

Pay:
$35,000 base pay
$500 a month additional for internet marketing satisfactory to owner ($6,000)
10% of sales on rods and reels on a monthly basis. (Unlimited)
