Job Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Associate Attorney to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney or someone with up to 1 year of experience in criminal law. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, confident, and passionate about criminal defense, with a desire to develop strong client relationships and courtroom skills. You will work closely with senior attorneys and be entrusted with managing cases from start to finish. This position will require significant travel across the metro Atlanta area, so reliable transportation is essential. We are committed to providing you with the training and support you need to succeed and grow in your legal career. We do not expect you to take on cases independently until you feel fully prepared, and you will receive guidance and mentorship along the way.
Responsibilities :
- Case Management : Handle criminal cases through all phases, from pre-trial to post-conviction, including client meetings, discovery, legal research, motions, and trial preparation.
- Courtroom Experience : Gain extensive trial experience, including appearing in court, arguing motions, and representing clients at trial.
- Client Communication : Be the primary point of contact for clients, providing empathetic and clear communication regarding their cases. Ensure clients feel heard and supported, even in the most challenging circumstances.
- Collaboration : Work closely with senior attorneys and colleagues for guidance and mentorship, while gradually taking on more responsibility as you gain experience and confidence.
- Client Intake : Manage client intake calls and consultations, demonstrating excellent interpersonal communication skills to build trust and rapport.
- Legal Research & Writing : Conduct legal research, prepare motions, and draft legal documents as required.
- Travel : Handle cases across the metro Atlanta area, requiring frequent travel. Candidates must have reliable transportation and a willingness to drive.
