Machine Operator/Stick Machine Operator

Job Overview

Seeking a skilled Stick Machine Operator to join our team. The Stick Machine Operator plays a crucial role in our production process, ensuring the efficient operation of the machine to meet or exceed production goals while maintaining excellent quality. Responsible for daily maintenance of machine and have ability to identify any potential issues. Must be an excellent communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate Stick Machine, efficiently and safely to maximize production.
• Perform daily maintenance to machine as required
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and helping those around you.

Qualifications/Skills

• Good use of judgment and decision-making skills.
• Previous experience operating stick machines or similar equipment in a sawmill or manufacturing environment.
• Troubleshooting and mechanical ability.
• Ability to keep a fast pace while not sacrificing quality, or safety.
• Willingness to work in a total team environment, comfortable with repetition yet adaptable to change in position, process, product, procedure, etc., positive attitude, willingness to share and implement new ideas.
• Ability to commit to prompt arrival for shifts and work overtime.
• Lean manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

• While performing duties as a Stick Machine Operator, the employee is regularly required to work at a fast pace
• The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.
• The employee works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions .
• The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.
• The employee is required to use tools such as shovels, axes, and other hand tools, related to the job.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of weight and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds of weight.
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Noise levels can be moderate to loud, hearing protection required.
• Safety glasses and safety shoes are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
