Job Overview
Work in a team of four Board Pilers to pile rough-sawed or planed lumber onto carts for drying and storage by lifting/sliding lumber from a raised chain(like a conveyor) onto the carts. Marks on the boards determine which cart the board belongs in and each person is assigned to look for and pile a different marking. This position is located indoors in a comfortable working environment. Please note: this is an entry level position that every member of the team starts in and must know how to do prior to moving to other positions within the company.

- Pile boards based on the grade that they are assigned.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and helping those around you.
Qualifications/Skills
- Good use of judgment and decision-making skills.
- Experience in or willingness to learn operation of hand and power tools and small equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to keep a fast pace while not sacrificing quality.
- Willingness to work in a total team environment, comfortable with repetition yet adaptable to change in position, process, product, procedure, etc., positive attitude, willingness to share and implement new ideas.
- Ability to commit to prompt arrival for shifts.
- Must to be able to work on your feet and lift up to 50lbs.
- Boards are freshly sawn and are heavier than a dried board. In order to do this you must be able to slide or lift boards regularly averaging 40lbs depending on the board length.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- No prior experience necessary but is appreciated. Must be open to on-the-job training.
- Availability to occasionally work overtime.
- No diploma or prior experience necessary.
