Kenmore Community Rowing Club (KCRC) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Masters Assistant Rowing Coach to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a passionate group of rowers at various skill levels, including intermediate, experienced, and Learn-to-Row participants.
Position: Masters Assistant Rowing Coach
Location: Kenmore Community Public Boathouse
Schedule: Variety of weekday morning practices; hours ranging 3 to 15 hrs weekly; flexible schedule (evening hours added during summer months)
Start Date: Immediately
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading on-water practices for Masters rowers, ensuring a safe and effective training environment.
- Provide technical instruction and feedback to athletes, fostering skill development and a love for the sport.
- Support the Learn-to-Row program by guiding new rowers in basic rowing techniques and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to maintain and improve the overall program experience.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, including proper use of equipment and adherence to water safety guidelines.
Qualifications Required:
- At least 2 years of rowing experience
- Active USRowing membership
- USRowing Level 1 (or 2) Coaching Certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
- Current CPR/AED certification
- First Aid certification
- Valid Washington State Boaters License
Qualifications Preferred:
- Prior coaching experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude
