Position Title: Executive Assistant to the President
Salary Range:
Confidential Unit, Level III, Salary range $52,328-$74,480. Benefits include: Retirement choice of Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) or Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) - in lieu of Social Security; full employee health/dental insurance and approximately 60% of cost for dependent coverage; life insurance paid by the MCCS; Vacation 20 days/year; Personal 2 days/year; Sick 12 days/year; and 13 paid holidays.
Responsibilities:
The Executive Assistant provides support to the President and Senior Leadership Team for the daily operations of the College. This person reports to the President and serves as the communication hub for the Presidents schedule and activities, representing the College to visitors and callers, and promoting a positive image to the College internally and externally. Under the direction of the President, this position provides complex and confidential support requiring discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance, representing the Presidents Office in all capacities. Primary duties include the day-to-day support of the Presidents Office including coordination of the Presidents calendar, arranging meetings and events; coordination of community and business contacts; processing paperwork; oversight of the Governance processes and meetings, and appropriate documentation of college policies, and providing support for the KVCC Foundation Board; maintaining and updating all college job descriptions, serves as back up for contracts, job postings, search committees and offer letters, as needed; and provides support for the Security Office regarding required trainings. In addition, oversight of Commencement, Employee Recognition events, and support for the planning and implementation of professional development day for all employees is coordinated and implemented by this individual.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two to four years of administrative experience; or an Associates Degree with a minimum of five to eight years of related administrative experience to include independent decision making. A Master's degree with experience in Higher Education and/or public sector is desired. Additional requirements include: understanding of organizational structures, experience with independent decision making and collective bargaining environments, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; computer knowledge and skills in Microsoft Windows environment, including excel and word, in conjunction with database and record keeping skills; strong organizational skills and knowledge of project management; and evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
