CLINICAL DUTIES :

Provide trauma informed and culturally competent weekly individual / group therapy to child victims of trafficking and sexual trauma; provide family therapy and supportive counseling to the child survivor’s families and their caregivers.

Promote, support and demonstrate the Client's mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards on a day-to-day basis.

Incorporate evidence-based trauma-informed care philosophy, practices and strategies in all activities.

Communicate with referral source and / or outside service providers to coordinate care supporting client’s optimal functioning.

Develop individualized treatment / service plans utilizing evidence-based models such as Functional Behavioral Assessments, positive behavioral supports strategies, etc., in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team and family / community support systems.

Coordinate discharge plans for child residents in collaboration with their parents / caregivers and assist parents / caregivers with the implementation when appropriate.

Participate in ongoing staff training and professional development initiatives.

Assist in providing crisis prevention / intervention support.

Completes data collection, data entry, and required reports and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with the program timelines and standards

Reports to the Clinical Supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : This position performs its’ duties routinely onsite in a residential setting for children. This position may need to be accessible to take emergency phone calls after hours and weekends to offer guidance as individualized circumstances are identified and occur. Staff working in a residential setting are exposed to the possibility of vicarious trauma and victim trauma response by working with residents impacted by trauma and sexual violence. Other possible exposure risk includes narcotics, alcohol, pests, and Bloodborne Pathogens.

HOURS : Full-time schedule is standard 9 : 00am- 5 : 00pm Mon.- Fri, with the potential to be accessible during evening / weekend shifts if needed. Part-time schedule can be flexible and establish the hours and days per week while accommodating the needs of the program, residents and their families. Part-time hours will be established following what is allowable according to the Maryland’s Department of Labor laws and standards.

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field or Doctoral Degree in Human service-related field.

Must be at least 21 years of age

Valid Clinical License in Maryland (LMSW and / or LGPC)

Knowledge of issues of sexual trauma and gender-based violence.

Proven experience with trauma informed counseling and family therapy.

Demonstrates cultural competency in working with a diverse population.

The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Knowledge of database management systems.

Ability to work evenings / weekend shifts as needed.

Bi-lingual highly encouraged to apply.

2 years direct clinical service with survivors of sexual violence required.

2 years of experience providing trauma focused therapy to Youth and families.

Complete required criminal background check, driving record check, and provide medical clearance information.

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

Sufficient computer skills to operate email, Internet, Microsoft Office, virtual learning platforms, SMS Text, Adobe, and database management system.

Residential setting mobility, including climbing stairs.

Occasional lifting of boxes.

Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.

Must have valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle.

Ability to drive a 7-passenger van if needed.
