Kennelwood Pet Resorts is looking for a Marketing Intern to be a part of a growing industry leader pet care business. This internship provides hands-on marketing experience in the pet care industry. Interns will work closely with our Marketing Director to support digital engagement, brand promotion, and community building efforts. This program combines both in-person and remote work for a flexible, hybrid experience. The program is ideal for students passionate about marketing, social media, and animal care.
Spring Semester (approximately 12 weeks)
15–20 hours/week - there will be evening/weekend hours required for community events (flexible schedule based on intern's availability)
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of contact for Kennelwood’s online community
- Assist in developing a content marketing plan and editorial calendar
- Create engaging, shareable content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and other marketing needs
- Travel to Kennelwood locations for social media content
- Monitor and respond to comments and customer queries in a timely, brand-consistent manner
- Provide community feedback to management and agency teams
- Plan and execute online and offline community initiatives and programs
- Support social media and communication campaigns aligned with marketing strategies
- Track and analyze web traffic and campaign performance using KPIs
- Assist in organizing and participating in events to boost brand awareness
- Coordinate with marketing and agency teams to ensure consistency in messaging
- Stay informed about emerging trends in digital technology and social media
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, or related degree program
- Strong interest in social media, community engagement, and content creation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and analytics tools
- Interns will use their personal devices for work but will be provided access to company communication tools and creative platforms necessary to complete their tasks
- Creative mindset and ability to generate innovative ideas
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
- Passion for pets is a plus!
