Adult Behavioral Support Specialist / Case Manager (Part-Time)
 
Kenneth Young Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to individuals of all walks of life. Located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, we offer a wide range of services including outpatient therapeutic care, recovery-oriented support, community prevention, LGBTQ outreach, older adult services, and crisis intervention. Job Scope: Join a diverse team of behavioral support specialists providing in-home and community-based skill building services to adults with mental illness. Gain clinical experience, with opportunities for continuing education throughout the year.  Room for movement into other clinical roles depending on experience and preference. Great stepping-stone for those looking to get into the clinical field.  
 
We offer a competitive salary and flexible scheduling. Compensation is based on education and experience, and is in the $18.50-$24.00 range. Mentors set their own schedule around the client’s schedule, and must be available evenings and weekends. Mentoring offers excellent exposure to working in a growing community mental health center, and allows staff to gain valuable experience working with individuals with mental health challenges.
 
Clinical Responsibilities
  • These services will include but are not limited to:
    •  Development of leisure skills for clients
    • Orienting clients to the community and resources
    • Development of skills for making and keeping friends
    • Setting limits and providing structure
    • Development of home maintenance skills for home living
    • Assisting clients in defining and developing interests
    • Educating and practicing healthy living skills
    • Working in conjunction with primary assigned clinician and adjunct staff to address meeting service needs of the client
    • Goal review and development of new treatment goals
  • Participate in supervision as directed by supervisor
  • Participate in regular performance evaluations
  • Work cooperatively with other staff to maintain smooth continuity of care when cases are shared
  • Meet or exceed service productivity target.
Administrative Duties
  • Receive input from the Behavioral Support Services leadership, and provide feedback regarding administrative issues
  • Submit, in a timely and accurate fashion, documentation as required by the Centers’ policies and procedures
  • Participate in orientations and training programs of the Center as directed
  • Attend all required all required meetings and supervision
Position Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in social services
  • Previous experience working with adults
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays
  • Willingness to drive to clients’ homes and provide services in the community
  • Excellent driving record
