PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Teaches elementary education classes to students, utilizing a course of study adopted by the Board of Education.
- Instructs students in citizenship and subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize instructional time.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Evaluates students' academic growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
- Communicates with parents to discuss student progress.
- Identifies needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and assisting student's needs.
- Creates an effective environment for learning through functional displays, bulletin boards, and centers.
- Maintains professional competence through ongoing and systematic professional development.
- Administers standardized testing in accordance with district policy and state law.
